FUEL ANALYSIS GROUP
Fuel Analysis Group serves public and private sector entities in coal and liquid fuel analyses. The most important tax collection item in Turkey is the SCT and VAT on fuel. This laboratory performs very important tasks in preventing tax losses of approximately 3 billion dollars annually. It is the first laboratory that is accredited in its field and that has undertaken significant roles in the accreditation of other public and private sector laboratories. Our laboratories have the international accreditation certificate of TÜRKAK in accordance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
One of the tasks that this laboratory has been performing for years is the monitoring of imports to prevent air pollution from coal. It has also undertaken very important tasks in the development of alternative fuels and fuel additives that Turkey needs.
The laboratory contributes to other fields of activity of the Institute and to all projects on fuels.
FIELDS OF ACTIVITY
SOLID FUEL ANALYSIS LABORATORY: It was established in 1984. It analyzes fuels such as hard coal, lignite, petcoke and biomass, which are used as energy sources in thermal power plants, industry and residences, in accordance with international standards.
The laboratory has been assigned as an arbitration laboratory by the Ministry of Environment since 2000 and analyzes fuels such as hard coal, lignite and petcoke from audit companies. It has the Certificate of Competence in Environmental Analyses on Coal issued by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning.
LIQUID FUEL ANALYSIS LABORATORY: It started the analyses of petroleum products in 1999. In 2004, with the development of the infrastructure in the B Block building and financing from the World Bank, Turkey’s first accredited laboratory was established for the analysis of petroleum products.
It performs the analysis of Gasoline, Diesel, Fuel Oil, Kerosene, Marine Fuels, Jet Fuels, Biodiesel, Mineral Oils in accordance with the standards.
Our laboratories have the international accreditation certificate of TÜRKAK in accordance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

1. ENERGY MARKET REGULATORY AUTHORITY (EMRA) SAMPLE ANALYSIS PROJECT: Within the scope of the fuel analysis projects carried out every year with EMRA since 2005, national marker level and quality conformity analyses are conducted on the Gasoline, Diesel and Fuel Oil samples taken from every province of the country.
2. SOLID FUEL CONVERSION TECHNOLOGIES PROJECT: Fuels such as hard coal, lignite, petcoke and biomass, which are used as energy sources in thermal power plants, industry and residences, are analyzed in accordance with international standards. Public institutions and organizations, private sector companies, universities, TUBITAK MAM institutes and projects are served with the analyses.
3. INDUSTRIAL SERVICE PROJECT WITH FUEL ANALYSIS: Public institutions and organizations, private sector companies, universities, TUBITAK MAM institutes and projects are served with the analyses on liquid petroleum products.
Every year, 500 personnel from public institutions and organizations are trained about the Standard on Sampling of Petroleum Liquids.
